Wireless Connectivity Configuration Walk-through

Simply go through the steps and set your options like the pictures represent. Once you do this once, you're all set for connecing in the future!.

We realize the paradox, you can only see this page while you're on the network. You can save ( File -> Save As) or print ( File -> Print) this page and all its pictures for a walkthrough while you are at a wireless hotspot. Please have your email username and password handy. If you are unsure what it is, access webmail.mansfield.edu before implementing these instructions.

*** Instructions are for Mac OS X and higher ***

Step 1 : Verify Hardware

You must have the following to be able to access the network:

  • A Laptop Computer.
  • Apple Macintosh OSX 10.3 (Panther) or later
  • A 802.11B (Wifi) airport wireless card
  • A Campus Services ID

 

Basic Instructions

 

The first five steps are all that's necessary

So, open Internet Connect in your Applications Folder
Then pull down the File menu and pick "New 802.1x Connection"
Then pick Edit Configurations from this new menu.

 

Step 1 : Properties Window

Your "Network Port" is your AirPort card.

The login and user information is the Campus Services ID and Password.

Our wireless network is ALWAYS 'Mansfield'.

You'll need to select 'PEAP'

Click the "OK" button to proceed.

 

Step 2: Enter Information

You should now see the above screen. Make sure the information is ok.

Click the "Connect" button to proceed.

 

Step 3 : Accept Certificate

You'll need to accept our certificate to proceed. Select 'mansfield' from the drop-down.

Click the "Accept All " button to proceed.

 

Step 4: Verify Login

After a brief period of authentication protocol, you'll be connected!
